Is it possible to get a negative pregnancy result in early pregnancy?

Hi all,

Im TTC and its 1 day late.. from past 1 week i feel i have many symptoms of pregnancy.. Im extremely tired,feeling dehydrated often,urinating often than usual, and sometimes have a mettalic taste in my mouth and also feeling kinda pulse in my stomach...My breasts have become a little bigger though no much pain and always feeling bloated and also feeling my body temperature very higher..

I took a clearblue digital HPT as i cud not wait long and it came out negative..Is it possible to get a negative result even if im pregnant(Wish to be pregnant).. The clearblue says it can detect 4 days prior to the period.. Im planning to take a blood test aftr a week if i dont get my periods..

But i still wanted to know if there is a chance of being pregnant eventhough the HPT says negative and how early will be the symptoms...

Yes, there is a chance. The reason being, you might not have ovulated on the day you usually do, which would result in a late conception. If that were the case, the amount of HCG in your urine might not be sufficient to be picked up by the Clearblue test.

I know its hard to wait, especially while TTC, but try your best to put off testing for atleast another 5 days.

Same boat .I am 3 days late and yesterday it was negative .Yet to to get my chums and no signs of pregancy yet .Good luck to you .

The next time you take the test make sure you do it on first urine in the morning

Hi Ladies,

Generally pregnancy test kits suggest you to use the kit atleast 7 days after missed periods to get more accurate results. I have a 35 day cycle. For me the wait period to use a kit was long... i didnt want to use the kit on say 36th or 38th day... i waited till 45th day to use the kit and what a relief, it came out positive... i then immediately called my health care provider to arrange for further blood test etc etc. i know it can be a nightmare to wait for the days to move forward... i had all the menstrual symptoms and didnt want to see blood in my panties... luckily it finally turned out to be pregnancy

So all the best ladies ... wait for few days more before testing for result... would also suggest not to stress your self physically during this wait period

Dear Friend,

Pls do a beta hcg done. go to a lab and give your blood sample and get your beta hcg done. some times in the urine the hcg level might not be sufficient enough to be shown, But beta hcg is a fool proof method.it can even say of pregnancy even on missing 1 day of period.

Hi , i have irregular periods since my marriage , i got married by jan2011 and after jan i got periods by april for 15days and then in may i missed again doctor gave me tablets and i got periods ....after that still i dint get my periods and my pregnancy test is negative in urine and also in blood....but i always have a symptoms of pregnancy...can anybody advise on the same

You need to consult a specialist to identify the reason for such long delay. It could be due to anovulation (Not ovulating at all) / various other reasons. Only a doctor would be able to tell you after knowing your history, and put you on a course of medication to regularize your periods.

Please dont delay in consulting a doctor.

marriage brings in lot of changes in women's body and hormones... periods might vary sometimes after marriage...

but if it gets too delayed... for more than 50 days then you should definitely consult doctor
