is it fine to give curd or banana while baby is having cold and cough?

    Hi,
    My son is 8 months old.I have not yet started any dairy items like yogurt or cheese. Can I start it by now nd how much I can gv him?
    If he is suffering from cold and cough ,then also I can gv yogurt and banana?
    My doc says u can alwayz give banana to ur baby even if he has cough &cold.

    Plz ans my query.

    Well, dairy is not recommended as it slows down the natural bodies which clear the phlegm. As for banana, I have noticed in my kid that she gets more cough if she has banana when she has cold/cough

    No, when your baby is having cough and cold you should not give these things. It only
    creates more problem.

    Of course you can give. If the baby is having cough/cold banana and curd are both soft foods that may feel good if you have a sore throat.

    Me too would say better no curd as its increasing the mucus as far i know, so might be not best time to introduce dairy products.
