    I got my IP after my sister and a couple of friends were singing its praises and I was struggling for ways to spend lesser time in the kitchen!!! I have had it since July last year (I went in and actually looked at my Amazon orders!!!) and I must say I really like it.

    @poovai ... I don't know about complete freedom from the kitchen, but it is at least definitely like at least moving to a minimum security prison or scoring an A-Class jail!!! I remember I felt like I had got the akshayapathram when I got the IP... it almost felt like I'd just have to push one of those buttons and food would just magically appear!

    @poovai,

    Next time when I post another Instant Pot recipe, I will make sure to mention, "Please don't let your DH try this at home". :)

    Seriously, I am making all these dishes because my wife is out of the country. When my wife returns from India, she is not going to allow me to even walk through the kitchen. She is highly territorial.

    Me too, I will not allow DH in the kitchen, it is like having a slave for life time.

    My son also said that, 'dad is very handy and why cannot he cook for himself'. It is very personnel, selfish way of holding on to him?

    Wow...
    I was always fascinated by the that electric pressure cooker ad on TV and wondered if it really works for indian kitchen. I was always checking it out in kitchen section in walmart.
    Then my H stopped me as we have so less kitchen space and counter space, and most of the gadgets I have are shoved somewhere and hardly used. One reason is inconvenience of taking them out of their place.
    Now this thread has again woken up my craving to own one.
    Btw, seriously, can you cook almost everything in it and same taste? Also in time effective manner?
    I purchased slow cooker couple years ago, waste of money space.

    Rice cooker is like savior for me as I take it everywhere, in hotel for cooking rice for my kid or boil water or even tea making in absence of microwave.
