    Mam, i am regular to this thread, used to view all the yummy and healthy recipes and have tried few as well. i am mostly silent, because i dont have any pics to post here, though i eat healthy food. i normally pack the food at box and have lunch at office, so couldn't take pics. BTW my today's lunch varagu pongal ,mashed turnip and curd.

    I have one query, i heard its good to include dal's in our daily menu. so i include lots of dal & legumes in our meals, either as sambar, sundal, kulambu etc., but how to avoid gas formation due to consuming dals?

    @Srinidhi007 it is ok to not post pictures. But we all love to be tempted by the virtual feasts.

    Lentils have sugar that break and produce gassiness and bloating. That said the best thing you can do is add more fibres together with the lentils.

    What if you need to eat them but have no idea of mixing fibres or you have a dish that is just mashed dal.

    Trick with dals is soak them for a couple of hours. Wash them well. Yes you heard right. Wash it and cook it with fresh water, with a few drops of castor oil. I add lot of hing in the sambhar or rasam.

    Have buttermilk with ashtachooran.

    I have already discussed the trick for peas, beans likr cowpea, rajma, chana or fava. You wash then well. Cook them in open ( even if pressure cooking) and once it atarts boiling remove the whole water with all the foam. Now add warm water and pressure cook.helps a lot.
