There is a definite slow down in economy not only in India but worldwide too, and thus the ramifications thereof being felt. Govt is going all out to balance the issues - especially banking sector seems to be the worst hit, mainly due to accumulation of all the frauds over the past few years and for which cases are on. If only the opposition - would try to really get into the situation instead of just working against in each and everything that the govt puts forth, things could ease out in the coming years. From the looks of it, they are brewing trouble by opposing for the sake of opposing - the kashmir issue - with the result that dangers of again hindu/muslim riots and upheavals could erupt with Pakistan taking advantage of the divide! Truly hope good sense prevails!
Joylokhi ji, I am no fan of the opposition but the Hindu/ Muslim issue is reaching epic proportions because of the ideologies of the government in power.
The onus is on govt as they are ruling not opposition. The same BJP when in opposition used to stall parliament for months Pakistan cannot take any advantage .. they are doing what they always do... it is for govt to take correct steps and criticism will be there when there are misteps. Excepting opposition to be quite and support every move is foolish ... Simply trying to blame earlier govt or managing headlines will not help ... concrete measures or required. Hope they find some one who is knowledgeable in economy to give some good policies otherwise we are in downward spiral ... no amount of blaming others will work in economy ... it will continue to slide. Looks like some of other Asian countries have moved Ahead of us and becoming fastest growing economies .... they will be the future destinations for investments if India does not act quickly ....
Hindu Muslim agenda will only make the investors run from country.... you need to have a peaceful place for investments to come ....
There seems to be an impression that the hindu -muslim issues is recent times, is due to the reigning BJP government. I would on the other hand say that they are only trying to ensure a uniform code of conduct for all citizens with no special priveleges that are continuing during the last 70 years or more of independence in the name of special status and separate civil code. I am personally not inclined towards any political party , but not raking up issues and going with the Govt and trying to see whats good for the nation is what is required. Till now all the issues that were taken up were merely a right that all citizens should have, but going along would mean there will not be any special vote bank, hence all the opposition even if it is at the cost of the nation and its economic situations. Like, Chidambaram beaming and showing his thumbsup sarcastically that the economy has come down to 5%. What can we expect if this is the attitude of supposedly knowledgeble people!
