Don't worry peartree, people like you and me cannot change so fast. Soon you will start baby stuff then it will be kid's stuff and the list gets endless....:spin

But, we gotta do SOMETHING!!! I decided I will think twice before I buy something from now onwards and try to see if I can do without it. But all this needs lot of self-control and I need to practice that a lot since my kids are growing and I cannot afford to waste money else.....:drowning

This is what I do.I simply reduce need to go for shopping.Suppose if you go to shopping for 4 times in a month,then only make it 1 time.That way the tendency to do shoppoing will reduce.Other times find some other places to spend the time.

It's easy...it's called simlpifying your life. The less clutter you have, the less time you spend cleaning and de-cluttering.

Often times we clean out our garages and closet and find things that are still brand new in packages...never used, never worn...had to buy it becos the next door neighbor has one or cousin has one or someone at work said they were getting one(keeping up with the Jones' syndrome). And what do we do, we either give it or throw it away.
I used to work with some ladies and they would go out and buy home appliances and next thing you know, "Oh it's in the closet, I have never used it" or " Oh I bought the new pots and pans so I can show them off"...and I am scratching my head going what!!! A bread maker (eg.) in the closet...never used it! Hmm...show them off to who.... at least cook/use them once!
Ahhhh but I am much happier!! Everything I own, I use.

Its my Dh :bonk... It has reduced after marriage...when we were dating and he travelled ..he always walked in with designer this and that.

Of Course for me and few for him but still..I couldn't say anything so as not to hurt..So I told him "Hey how about you get me gift only once a month .This is because we have to get your sis married...well he understood grudgingly".

He is much better now...but he is a gadget freak and I know I will be buying the iPad for him soon.:drowning
