IL Accepted Abbreviations List

I agree with Sunitha on this. It is difficult to monitor every post though.
However by giving an accepted list of abbreviations, it is upto the discretion of the member to use it or not. SOmetimes due to shortage of time, one is compelled to use short forms. I feel any short form used should not be offensive to any other person.

 

Agree with both of you..I, sometimes, yes.. might have used short form without any intentions. Does not mean to hurt or offend anyone.

But, will remember the rules in future.

In normal forums you can use BF and GF
to mean girl friend and boy friend

 

Good list which really useful in understand some posts from senior most ILs who normally uses these abreviations in their posts.

These had me flabbergasted that I had to rack my brain to know what they slowly came to know about them so recorded here so that if anyone interested can check here... It is very difficult to stop sms style as we have been using sms for long that in forums like this it seems appropriate to use but at the same time it will be very difficult for uninitiated also from various country varios styles some of them can be understood by home makers but not all atleast if one can compile these it will be useful...
