I Hold You But Only In My Heart

I hold you, but only in my heart
    My body wants to
    But we're too far apart

I kiss you, but only in my dreams
    My torrid fantasies
Tearing me a bit at my seams

I trust you, but only in my mind
    You promise truth
    While saying I'm too kind

I honor you, but only in my soul
    It lights a flame
No doubt I'll bear a toll

I choose you, but only in my bones
    It hurts to want you
I feel the creak and its groans

I promise you, but only for tomorrow
    Today I'm here
Soon my body too will follow

    Bhumi,
Lovely poem but I feel pain in between those lines too. You are expressing feelings through poems so so well.

    Exactly my thoughts.
I am sure writing these beautiful poems can be cathartic.
