tortilla roti maker is too good. they offer with a free demo when u purchase and you can master the usuage of it.its very useful in rotis even with gluten free flours like bajra ,jowar etc.we need some time with every kitchen appliance and the rotimaker is also same, but its not a rocket science.i have been using since 4 years and use it for rotis ,parathas and even small dosas and cutlets.

    Hi ,

i too have bought a roti maker. I cant remember the brand name.

Also, the chappatis made in it are verfy hard and even the street dogs run away if they see me calling them for these chappatis. I ve stopped using it.

What i now do is , roll chappatis in the marble stone and instead of tawa, use this roti maker and one advantage is, we can sit on the dining table or floor and make rotis.

I also make adai, dosa, bread toast,.

    They all come very well.

But we have to clean prperly before evey use.

I am having national brand roti maker,i bought this from madurai exhibition around 1600rs 1000watts,its very very useful to me the main thing to keep in mind while kneeding atta is the more water u use the more soft roti u will get ,u can go and ck this in u tube how to use roti maker,i saw from exhibition how that sales person made,so i taught all my friends and all my friends bought different brands like chefmaster, etc but i heard butterfly is not good as the temperature is very high ,there is some technique atta shld b very ,very soft little sticky works very well,i most of the time kneed thr foodprocessor, then after making a little flat balls press and open and flip it atonce then after a while flip it again when u c small bubbles then after cing small brown spots close the lid softly it will puff by itself and comes out, main thing is atta shld b little sticky,do not press too hard otherwise the roti will tear.

I am glad I found this thread! I always wondered about a roti maker, having seen it only on TV.
