    Hello all

finally got the roti maker from india and i have tried 3-4 times...the first time was failure because of the consistency of dough but the other times, the dough was made really loose and the rotis came out really well and were soft and popped out like how they show in tv...i accept it was a little rubbery but it was fine

i guess the main trick is to prepare the dough.it should be really loose

Hi , Friends , I was reading through all the pages in this thread and I would like to share my experiences too , with my roti maker.....I have Preethi roti maker for the past year and it has made chapathi making more fun ...You know , being a typical south indian ....making chapathis is so difficult for me compared to cooking a complete rice based meal with 3 , 4 items .....Nowadays I enjoy chapathis each day and my sons also like it for the softness and fluffiness....The 1st time was a disaster but slowly within a day or two ....they came out so well...So , to summarize....keep trying for a few days ...the dough has to be soft and loose , flatten them a little with your hands , dust your palms with flour and make the balls and flatten them and keep them all ready before switching on the rotimaker....best of luck to all of you for making rotis....

Yes , Vandana , Preethi works fine ,It's stainless steel body makes cleaning easy and it's Teflon coated on both sides...so non stick material
