Past three month ,i am playing with polymer clay.I tried few earrings. I just like to try jhumkas.I tried one but the clay is not in shape of full dome. Also the jhumka base ,i mean the end part of the dome is not in regular shape(I mean after baking,if i keep the jhumkas down in floor, they are not even and it look like one part of dome is up and other down. what mistake i am doing? What inch thickness clay should i use?

What i did for making jhumka:
1.condition the clay thro pasta machine.
2.Roll to the thickest setting and using round cutter i cut the clay into circles.
3.Apply oil inside the dome mold.
4.Place the clay on top of the inside mold and cently press at the center. Shape it to the shape of the dome.
5.When i am pressing ,i can see the edges are uneven in shape.
    6.Design and bake it.

    What i am doing wrong?

dry the cly and bake with uneven edges / burrs once the Jumki is hard then with the use of file you can make it smooth. or you can use Emery paper to make the edges smooth and soft

if the Jumikey is strong enough to hold during wet condition dip finger or buts in water and make this clear finish.
