hi all My son is 10 months old,he likes cakes/puddings,i want to bake at home using my convection oven. But dont know how to make without baking powders ,can someone suggest me.
Mahi I found one recipe online without baking powder...i usually bake with baking powders and the recipe in my signature is just one of them. Now try this ...this one uses self rising flour A spiced carrot cake with pecans or walnuts. Cook Time: 1 hour Total Time: 1 hour Ingredients: 2 cups sugar 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil 4 eggs, beaten 3 cups self-rising flour 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 2 cups grated carrot 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans or walnuts Preparation: In a large mixing bowl combine sugar, oil, and eggs; beat well. Blend in flour and cinnamon. Add carrots and chopped pecans or walnuts, stirring until well blended. Pour into a generously greased and floured 10-inch tube pan or Bundt pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour, or until cake springs back when lightly touched with finger. Frost with cream cheese frosting or glaze as desired. And another one...this one is a simple cake. 40z flour 40z sugar 40z butter 2 eggs note: for every two oz of ingredients use 1 egg. (just incase you double mixture up or anything) for chocolate cake replace 1oz of flour with 1oz of cocoa powder bake at around gas mark 4 for 20 minutes, or until skewer/knife poked into middle of cake comes out clear. Try them and tell us if your baby liked them Btw theres another recipe...of caramel custard by Rakhii in this thread http://www.indusladies.com/forums/toddlers/210848-join-me-15-months-18-a-9.html Check for post#89 in the thread
Hi Dinny thanks a lot ...cake flour means maida and cornflour 2 tsp ..am i correct. in india i dont know whether we get cake flour or not.
mahi this should help How to Turn All-Purpose Flour into Cake Flour Step 1: Measure out the all-purpose flour that you’ll need for your recipe. Step 2: For every cup of flour you use, take out two tablespoons of flour and return it to the flour bin. Throw the cup of flour (minus the two tablespoons) into a sifter set over a bowl. Step 3: Replace the two tablespoons of flour that your removed with two tablespoons of cornstarch Step 4: Sift the flour and cornstarch together. Sift it again, and again and again. The cornstarch and flour need to be well incorporated and the flour aerated. Sift the flour and cornstarch mixture about five times. btw self rising flour too has baking powder in small quantities.. i guess making a cake sans baking powder is a very difficult thing to do...because after all you see the cake has to rise and turn soft too..
