    It's true cutemonster,
I too make it this way every week.I don't use your in laws method neither mine .
while preserving malai you add a small katori or less of curd to it this will not make your malai or buttermilk bitter.

And the buttermilk which you get as the by product heat this and you will get paneer out of this.

one more thing the remaining residue can be used to make paranthas (just add chopped onion, green chillies, coriander, mint leaves, salt, pepper, amchoor )this will be the filling for paranthas.

or simply add this while you are kneading dough .

please try and let me know how you find this .

Thank you guys for wonderful tips on making butter at home....

My Mom prepares it without putting in curd, I mean by directly putting malai in the blender and then adding water to it till the butter separates....though I have never tried it...

    Will definitely try now....feels good!
    Thanks

If you want fresh butter then store 2-3 days malai in refrigerator and on 3rd night put 2-3 tablespoon of curd in that malai, then on next day morning blend in mixture by putting ice and 1/2 glass of cold water and when butter come up stop it. After that collect that butter in a bowl and you can eat directly with hot chappati, roti otherwise you can melt it (for long use).
