How To Make A Thermocol Lantern - Tutorial

Hi All,

I am new to this forum and I want to share a step by step procedure to make a thermocol lantern. I've cut these parts using a machine, but anyone with little patience and determination can repeat the results.

Now, take a thermocol sheet (12mm thick) and cut these parts with sharp knife or hot wire with dimensions shown.

1. Cut two restraining rings, 2 Nos. of end caps and the main body. The dimensions have to be as close as possible to form a tight fit.

2. This rectangle part is the main body and provides the diffused light effect. Watch the lines across the sheet. These lines have to 5 mm apart and cut to half the depth of the sheet.

3. gently try to fold the sheet, now it bends instead of breaking.

4. Carefully roll the sheet and fit the first restraining ring around one edge.

5. Repeat the same for other end.

6. Squeeze the end caps gently before closing the ends.

7. Add some RGB led and floral carvings, and the party lights are ready .

of course once you've mastered the bending part, there many are possibilities.
