    Hi
Sorry am too late. You can advise them use few drops of petrol/kerosene to remove the tracing mark n later wash it with soap n water or give it to dry clean - they can blow with high pressure compressed air. Pls warn them not to wash it straight away with soap n water.

shruthi , nobody stores petrol at home ,which is highly inflambleyhat every one knows, our Ilfriend vasthra too suggested the same one, to take petrol from car or any other vehicle is left to their choice , to remove carbon mark litres of petrol are not required:)If the material is hand washable then there is no point in worrying. ,,,

    Divided Skirt/Sports Skirt

I have a doubt regarding divided skirt. I had made one for my daughter some time back but it didn't turn out quite well.
In my tailoring notes, the drafting of the front part & back part is different(the crotch) but I'm not able to stitch it together because of the differences.
I somehow managed to pull it together & stitch it together.

The question is, can I draft it just like a pyjama where the front & back part are the same?

    Thanku in advance!

even in pyjama front and back crotch shape will be different. You must have stitched front crotch line to back crotch line. That is why you had to pull the fabric to match.

    ohhok!!!

    Thanku for the response,Vanimam.
Is it ok if the cloth is folded into four ( where a curve joins from waist to crotch using french curve) and cut out equally instead of drafting front & back separately?

    Re: Divided Skirt/Sports Skirt

You can do it.draw front crotch line in one colour and back crotch line in an other colour.Cut back crotch line and the other lines such as waist , inner leg and bottom. Open the folds. you get 2 layers .Cut the front crotch line on one side.So each layer should have front crotch on one side and back crotch line on the opposite side.care should be taken sucth that same crotch line comes on one piece.

    Re: Divided Skirt/Sports Skirt

    To shruth , artvani,

U said the crotch for the back is drafted differntly. i've a doubt, here.

    1. For the pajama, the lenth of the back is increased by 1.5 inches at the back .

    2. for the pants, the length and widht of the crotch are both increased by 1.5 inches each.

My doubt is : for drafting a divided skirt, which one sh'd u apply ? The one for pajama , or the one for the pant?

    Pls clarify.
