Backstitching is when you sew a few stitches backwards on straight stitch and then go forward on the regular seam. This keeps the stitching from pulling apart later.

 

i need clarification...pls help

Hi,
I saw patiala salwar draft given by sunitha.As per this, i tried it in a paper.since i am not familiar with cutting,i have some doubts.I will attatch diagrams of patterns i got after cutting;it not includes waist band.I doubt if it is correct or not.please have a look at it and pls correct if u can.I got 4 pieces in each shape.But in final ,i had to join both sides..ie,stitcing is coming inleft and right sides of the leg part.I think it is not correct.please help...

Hi Aswathy,

Please see the picture that I am attaching. For each leg, there will be 3 pieces like in the picture. You have to take pleats along the line abcd and the pleats should be complete from the front till the back and then attached to the waist band. Hope it is clear now.
If not clear please let me know I will try to be more specific.
