How To Deal With Mil!!!!

    Hi all..
    I am back in India for one month.
    My husband and I stay with in laws as we dont yet have a house of our own. My husband plans to buy a house or a plot this time. We informed his parents about this before coming to India. I checked online for the plots and houses. One of my cousins went to check after I requested him. Once my uncle and cousins finalised with two options my parents and husband’s parentd went to see the property.

    Now after reaching India. My husband told me that he wants to buy it in my name. My mother in law talks to me like they found the property and told my husband to keep his photo, his aadhar and such things ready. In front of me she even said that she will go with him so that he will get company !!!

    I felt sad and angry at the same time. Does she not realize it was me who picked up the property in the first place? Wasnt it my cousin who went and checked out first?
    Since we are married.. is it not normal to have the property registered in both our names? Is it like my husband pays so it should only be in his name?(Note : my husband wants to gift me the property in my name)


    I feel very bad..

    If he wants to register in your name then without you registration is impossible. If he wants to gift you why are you worried about your MIL. Will she change his mind ??
    Even if it’s not in your name don’t mind since it’s his money it’s his wish to decide if it should be joint or under your name.

    This is a tricky situation.
    This depends from family to family .
    If you can avoid her accompanying you guys on the registration day, register as per your wishes

    Even if it's in your husband's name good.
    Properties brought by my husband's money was written in my file name, them passed onto my bil.

    I did not get what is the problem exactly is it mil going with him or ur husband registering in his name..

    I feel

    I feel like she disrespects my marriage with him. Yea , I am okay if he changes his decision. Its his wish. (He already told his dad that he wanted to get it in my name) . I feel she insulted my relationship with my husband. She tried to always make me feel that wife -husband relationship has no value . (Except for her case)

    Omg!! What does that exactly mean?
    How can it be done?
    Registered in your name ?then how come it got passed on to your BIL?
