How do you do this pigtail hairstyle?

I remember when I was 9 years old in school, I always admired the little girl in my class, she had long hip length hair. She was Indian and always wore her hair in tucked pigtails. I don't know the professional name for this hairstyle is called but for years I wanted to know how to do it.

She had a ribbon and it was like her braids were plaited along with the ribbon and then finally tucked with a pretty bow. I was wondering if anyone can give a guide on how it's done? I want to try it on my little cousin
