We all know that Holi is a festival of colours. But have we ever wondered why Holi is celebrated the way it is? The main objective behind Holi is to spread the message of unity and brotherhood. The colours of Holi are meant to cover all other kinds of discriminatory colours. The festival gives us a chance to forget all discriminations and engage ourselves in pure fun and frolic. The distinctions of race, colour, status, sex, cast and creed are meant to blur as “gulal” and colored water are thrown and splashed on us.
We start looking the same in our coloured faces and attires and the spirit of universal brotherhood and equality is reinforced.

What else do you think Holi signifies?
