High Cholesterol...Please Help!!!

    Hello Friends,
    My husband's cholesterol level is too high. I am worried about his health, Please suggest me some home remedies to lower his cholesterol.

    He has to start taking medicines if his cholesterol is too high....coming to home remedies - you have to change his life style: My husband also has high cholesterol, so I am following these things:

    1. Regularly taking the medicines prescribed by our doctor
    2. Doing exercise regularly
    3. Only using olive oil for cooking
    4. Cutting down on eating prawns & other food items which causes increase in cholesterol (you can get this list in google)
    5. Eating healthy diet with lot of veggies & fruits

    Hi,
    Best way to reduce high bad cholesterol is exercising regularly.. Morning or in evening spend time in jogging.. ( especially outdoor jogging, me and my husband are doing and seeing good results)
    Next avoid stored and packed foods
    Have a piece of garlic in raw and chew it... ( it will burn but the chemical produced with saliva while chewing burns fat)
    Also Aloe vera juice is available in stores..
    My best advice is instead of taking tablets try to reduce with exercise and natural herbs..

    Thank you Kcb and Babybala, My husband is a vegetarian and he loves veggies a lot. I am going to completely reduce his rice intake. In-fact most of the times on his official trips he eats only salads. I will try garlic and aloe vera juice. Doctor has suggested him to take multi-vitamins with fish oil. I heard that raw cinnamon and cardamom is also good for cholesterol, Anybody knows about it?

    Try doing the following.

    1. drinking 2-3 cups of green tea. The tea has to be in dried leaves form. You can get them at Chinese store.
    2. Have a spoon of cinnamon and honey early in the morning. Yes Cinnamon is good for cholestrol
    3. Drink warm water.
    4. No Soda or alcohol or juice (outside juice have a lot of sugar)
    5. Walk 3-4 miles daily.
    6. Have rice occasionally (once or twice a week), Use quinoa
    7. No sweets, ice cream (small quantity and occasional only)
    8. Eat avacado, walnuts daily
    9. Eat oatmeal cereal (one that comes with no sugar)
    10. limit bread, roti intake
    11. Eat more of lentils, moong, chana, etc
    12. limit butter/cheese
    13. Take flaxseed oil tablets (3 tablets), Niacin tablet (1000mg) supplements.
    14. put little flaxseed powder in vegetables, roti, dosa batter etc.

    Try the above and see if it lowers. I got the list from my friend whose husband had high cholesterol.

    In order to reduce Cholesterol,
    Try to eat Kollu (black horse gram )
    Daily morn in empty stomach
    1.Put B horse gram Soak it in water before going for sleep
    2.next morn boil that for few mins
    3.Drink the water alone (not the grams)
    4.Due it for a month and see... Drastic Changes will be there

    Have heard black horse gram reduces cholesterol also how about taking brown rice.

    Fenugreek , raw garlic and flaxseed is best remedy for this.
    You can accommodate these three in day today food.

    Along with doctor's prescriptions, u can include almonds in your diet everyday.
    It helps in reducing bad cholestrol by increasing good cholestrol. 4 to 5 almonds per day should suffice.
