My friends r coming home this weekend 2 family r coming on diff days both r vegetarian So i need some new diff recipes and and a menu and one more thing wht makes a complete menu pls suggest ideas.....urgent
Bhargavi, if you check Chitra aunty's recipes you will get many ideas! Also since they are two different families on two different days, may be you want to keep enough snacks and keep the main food simple - including a rice dish/chapathi with curries and a sweet! You could buy frozen cocktail samosas, patra, vege rolls and things like that so that you can quickly do it in the oven and offer them. Also may be you can bake some cookies?
Hi... We had this menu at a potluck & was a hit, this is a combo of andhra and indian chinese cuisine. Starters - Veg Spring rolls, onion Pakodi Main course: Rice - Indochinese veg fried rice, tamarind pulihora, white rice Curry - Egg pulusu, veg manchuria, aloo fry Dal - Tomato dal, plain dal with ghee Rasam - pepper rasam with papad Chutney - green chilli chutney Yoghurt- Majjiga charu (more kolumbu), plain curds Desert - Fruit custard you can make the fried rice with frozen mixed veggies to make things easier. For pulihora you could make it the night before and let the pulihora sit on the counter overnight as it tastes better the day.You could buy frozen spring rolls and deep fry them and serve them with a spicy sauce since they are bland.Egg pulusu (vahchefs recipe is good, i personally tried it), this sour gravy tastes better the next day..so you can make it the day before. Veg manchuria ( you could mince the frozen, thawed veggies and use them),rest of the recipes are easy. Here is another veg menu.A combo of andhra, indochinese and north indian cuisine. Starters - Cocktail Idli, gobi manchuria, mushroom 65 Main course: Rice/bread - Vegetable Biryani, white rice, Naan Curry - Navaratan korma, paneer tikka masala Rasam - Dal rasam with assorted papads Pachadi - beerakaya (ridge gourd) chutney Curds - Raita, plain curds Desert - Microwave kalakhand You can use frozen chopped veggies for biryani and korma.Naan can be bought from trader joes (the garlic naan tastes awesome). To make things easier you can use parampara tikka masala paste & follow the directions (available in indian stores). Its yummy. Here is another.. Starters - Medu vada, samosa Main course: Rice/bread - Hyderabadi veg biryani, white rice, poori Curry - Aloo kurma,Mirchi ka salan Chutney- Tomato chutney Rasam - Tomato rasam Yoghurt - Raita, plain curds Desert - Fruit custard You can find most of these recipes in vahchef's youtube channel.Hope this helps.
