HELPPPPPPP...Dont know where to start

    Hello all,

    I have been around here for the past 3 years...joined a lot of weight loss buddy and then backed off..and now I am desperate to lose weight and just cant gathers myself to start or just confused as to where to start...

    I am now 87kgs...................:bonk

    Please help me guys???

    Hi Cyberfunky,

    You can join any of the weightloss threads in this section.You can read the posts over there and get an idea about where to start.

    Start taking lemon+hot water+ honey as the first thing in the morning.

    Dont have too much of sweets,oil,junk food,fried food etc.

    Snacks should be fruits.

    Have a light dinner.

    Have half an hour to one hour workout like brisk walking etc.

    Sleep well(6-8 Hrs)

    Drink luke warm water.

    Hi Cyberfunky,
    include salad in your diet and reduce 1 chapati from each meal. i usually eat a full bowl salad half an hour before my meal. As Lakshmi said i always take luke warm water to drink.

    Laxmi has told it all. It takes time to loose weight even I am sailing in the same route. I am 70 kgs and need to loose atlease 12 kgs but hardly I shed 2, 3 kgs but now I am firm in my goal to shed some kilos in the six months. One thing also to add. early morning in empty stomach take one tea spoon of fenugreek see, add 10 peppers, 10 raw rice and 2,3 flakes of garlic. Gulp everything with water. After sometime you will get burps. That means its working. I have started this therapy since one week will tell you the result on 29th of this month. This will work for sure.

    Try all of the above, but remember the basic rule:

    calories you consume should be less than the calories you burn!

    Start a program of aerobic excercise (start walking and slowly transition to running....try 4 minute walk with 1 minute run, and repeat....do minimum 40 minutes) and start some strength training/yoga.

    Start keeping a food diary and see where the high calories come from. Also avoid late night eating and drink lots of water.

    Try to list out your weak points like sweets or lack of exercise or junk food. Make a list and try to attack one item at a time. Remember that it will take some time for results to show. Believe in yourself and practice restraint. All the best...:).

    I have lost 12 kgs in past 3 months. This is how I did it.

    1. 30 mins aerobics 5 days a week (eg elliptical, power walking, step aerobics, fit tv ). You have to be working out at an intensity where you cannot talk for more than a minute. Plus 30-50 minutes of strength training (weight lifting) per week.

    2. Completely eliminate starchy carbs eg rice, wheat, chappati, potatoes carrots etc from your diet. This is hard for 1st week but then your body adjusts.

    3. Cut down on portion size eg eat 1/2 apple instead of 1. You should not be eating more than 1500 calories per day.

    4. eat more protein (chicken, fish, tofu, paneer, eggs, low starch veggies, soy burgers, almonds etc instead of starchy carbs. drink soy milk (plain one not sweetened).

    5. eat 5 small meals per day, not more than 300 calories per meal.
