I am from remote small town of TN near Rameswaram, Chennai is fantasy to me ! Later Chennai seemed as city of mobs ( no thanks to C class violent movies) filled with robbery , threatening auto drivers . I got job in Chennai , slowly my whole image change well actually my childhood fantasy returned I enjoy Chennai so much. You can be whoever u like !! U can be very spiritual, fashion freak, shopaholic, bookworm, food addict, biker, go greener, cricket freak ... u name it u will find it. Ofcourse like all I love beach watching never ending waves is like meditating. Tada Falls Ubbalamadugu Falls - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Tada falls or Ubbalamdugu Falls is in Tada mandal of Nellore district in India. It is situated on the border of Tamil Nadu and Andra Pradesh. It is situated around 95 km from Chennai. This very beautiful falls U can plan for one day trip.The ideal time to visit Tada is between August - December when the sun is a little less intense. The worst time is March - June - you'd probably melt before you make it back Chennai. My personal advice: its not so tidy but falls is very nice.Dont forget to pack food n fill enough water
Vedanthangal (85 kms) This is a bird sanctuary for migratory water birds. It is about 85 kms from Chennai. Season: November- March. The Vedanthangal Bird sanctuary will be open from 6 AM to 6 PM. Karikili Bird Sanctuary Karikili bird sanctuary is located at a distance of around 9 km from the Vedanthangal bird sanctuary. The best time for bird watching is in the morning.
Gudiyam Caves Situated 10 kms from the Poondi Reservoir at Alikuzhi Ghats, it is believed to be a pre- historic hominid habitation. There are about 16 rock shelters that are naturally formed like canopy-like structures in the reserved forests. It is the right kind of expedition for trekkers and nature-lovers. Gudiyam Caves, known by the village name situated @ the foothills comprises of 16 natural stone shelters which were used for dwelling nearly 100000 years ago. Dont miss the museum maintained by the government about 10 km’s from the cave site which gave us the confirmation that the unusual stones we simply dodged en route the caves to be weapons were actually the tools used by the pre-historic man and a beautiful dam built on poondi reservoir. Some useful info & Tips: Route : (Approx. distance from Adyar – 80 kms. (Max.)) To reach Poondi (about 65-70 kms.): drive down the Poonamallee Road -> then take the Tirutani Road -> head to Thiruvallur -> turn off to Poondi reservoir Poondi-Gudiyam (15 kms. Max.): Palayam -> Seettancheri -> Pennalurpettai ->Right diversion(Gudiyam) Note: Athirambakkam is another place of interest to visit. Tips: · Carry ample water & sufficient food · Also carry some biscuits to feed yourself & dogs...lol. · Also keep some basic first-aid & glucon-D if some feels tired. · Cap, full sleeve T-shirts, cargo/jeans, sports shoes, backpack advisable · Start early in order to start the trek before afternoon. · I am sure you would take few carry bags along unless you bent of turning the place into a dumping ground. Avoid having food in the caves as the smell is rather unpleasant and it takes lot more to clear up the mess...than to create one.
