Actually i planned to post step by step procedure with pictures. I am not able to attach the pictures. The pictures may vary. Pls bear with me.

    Things Needed:
    1. Stick of desired length (any dried stem can be used, i have used neem tree stem)
    2. Knife
    3. acrylic colours of your choice
    4.Clear nail polish or varnish
    5. Salt paper
    6. Brush

    Procedure:

Step 1: Clean the stick using Knife. Rub the stick using salt paper. So that the stick will be very smooth.

Step 2: Make the stick sharp at one end and draw some line at the other end

Step 3: Paint the stick of your choice. Even you can draw its depends on your creativity. Leave for dry.

Step 4: Apply varnish if you dont have use clear nail polish.

Step 5: Now, your hair accessory ready.:thumbsup

when you put a knot (kondai) or a bun, it will hold..there are sticks that are sold as holds..

@kalai good one.. a small suggestion, if you can, carve the top side before painting, even if it is just 3 concentric circles.. and

the holding part or the part that is seen from the top..if you can just carve 3 circles...it will make it more nice..and you can nicely sand the stem, for a smoother finish.. actually it is a process. you soak the stem for a day. and then start sanding..that way you can get a smoother finish..then apply primer, then paint and then coat of varnish... longer process, but it gives you a nice feeling.

you can also screw in a few salangai at the top..i have seen that..too..
