H4 to H1 through a non profit

    Hi,

    I would like to know if I transfer my visa status from H4 to H1 through a non profit organisation, will i be able to work for other companies also which are not non profit?

    Also if I transfer my H1 will it be cap exempted or I have to file in the H1B cap quota?
