An icon of South India, Nalli has almost become symonymous with silk and kanchipuram sarees. It was started as a small retail store, way back in 1928, by Nalli Chinnasami Chetty, in Chennai.

My mom tells, this place has an experience of almost 50 years. They specialize in 100% pure silk garments and fabrics. We shop from here on every occasion!

Nalli, as Anandi mentions, is also one of the best!! Its sarees have unquestionable quality at the most reasonable prices. It is a very popular destination for wedding sarees. It has a long list of loyal customers.

When we went out to shop for my sister’s wedding, we went to

a) Meena Bazaar – The sarees are decent and of enviable varieties.

b) Vineet Sarees- They have outlets in Karol Bagh, Lajpat Nagar and Shipra Mall, Indirapuram. They offer a wide range of varieties. The prices are reasonable. The sales people are courteous and helpful. They also sell Salwar Suits.

c) Vansisi – The Jaipur Saree Kendra has now shifted to Noida, Sector – 18. Earlier it was located in Greater Kailash. They offer a great variety of sarees, lehengas and stitched kurtis. The prices are affordable and the ambience is friendly.
