    Thought of starting a thread with just salad recipes. Preferably with a pic of the salad so that others have an idea of what we are talking about
    So, what are you waiting for girls, take your salad bowl, toss few things, mix, mix and mix. Tada. Grab that comfortable seat, relax and devour your salad

    Nice thread..

    3 bean Salad Recipe.. - I dont have pic yet .. will click it next time n upload it,.

    Chole , rajma , black chana .. Soak it for 7-8 hras .. n pressure cook it ..

    Drain the water , Add Chopped Onions , Tomatoes , Corriander , bit of green Chillies, half lemon juice , chat masala ..

    benefit : Full of protein + oil free ..

    Love the papaya peanut salad with dressing. Its thai recipe i assume.

    Sweet potates/tapioca/potatoes steamed cubed tossed in greek yoghurt dressing with herbs is a meal.

    Corn, red cabbage, cherry tomatoes in honey chilli and rosemary. ( i use the dry herbs)

    Hi ppl,

    Thanks for starting a separate thread for Salads..! will be following for more exciting recipes & ideas...

    Just want to share a simple instant salad that I eat when I don't have any soaked beans/pulses.
    Quick Salad or can be an Evening-Healthy Snack...

    I took a small cup of Puffed-rice (called as "Pori" in Tamil).
    Mixed in a few Roasted Gram, Peanuts, Carrot+Cucumber gratings.
    Added Salt+Pepper & Jeera Powder+Chaat masala sprinkle with a few drops of lemon juice. Quick stir it. If you want can add a drop of Honey (I use some Jaggery powder mostly instead of Honey).

    Ready to eat Salad..
    No oil.. No fat.. No heat!!
    The puffed rice absorbs water from the cucumber/carrot/lemon juice and along with the powders it gives a juicy snack too.!!

    Boiled egg, lettuce, cucumbers, capsicum, tomato.
    Lettuce should be washed, cut into strips, soaked in icy water for 5 minutes, taken out and spun in a salad spinner to dry. Arrange lettuce at the bottom of the bowl, cut tomato, cucumber, and capsicum into attractive shapes and put them on top of the lettuce. Sprinkle low cal dressing (oil/vinegar with some herbs in it) on top. Cut one peeled medium boiled egg into quarters, and place them on top.
    Serve with green tea, cold water.
    We call it penance lunch for having been out to eat dinner the previous night, and splurging.

    * substitute cooked channa (garbanzo beans) or rajma for egg, if you are a vegetarian.

    Tossing in paneer grapes cherry tomatoes cucumber and pineapple adding lemon juice pepper honey salt and pepper powder gives a lovely tangy taste.
