    Minal,

I will tell you what gifts I had given for haldi kumkum at my place during Navrathri. I had purchased from Micheals store here in U.S, small Jewellery box (wooden).

I had also gifted in the past...a glass plate with designs on it, small glass bowl used for serving custard all of which are useful for my friends. Take a look at stores like dollar store, Micheals, Garden Ridge etc and u will get an idea.

    hi,

I remember my friend gave ceramic bowls from kmart.. it would not cost more than $2.. you can give them with some fruits and a packet of haldi & kumkum if you have.. or you would get the wicker basket(small ones) again from kmart for $2 or $3..

Amazon has some good haldi kumkum return gifts.. What I do is go to a local Indian store and pick something under 10$ for gifts.. depends on howmany people you are inviting.. In south, people generally distribute sesame seeds(ellu) and bananas and in Maharashtra, we distribute til gid laddoos and haldi kumkum. Anything should be fine.. Some also get some blouse pieces from India and give it along with vida(dakshina). Hope this helps.
