Ghostly / Ghastly Episode

They are a bunch of friends in their early teens loitering in school, that’s what at least a sizeable number of students do, the back benchers they are. These guys are known well than the guys who toil and burn the midnight oil to capture the ranks.

It was excursion time at school and bang these guys are on time and never miss them. Such is the thirst for fun. It was all talks about the new fun city that had sprung up and all the schools were taking the students over there.

Guys who had the luxury of visiting earlier with their family had been speaking volumes about the theme park and those who hadn’t were all eyes & ears to the stories. The most spoken about section was the ghosts abode.

A guy in this bunch was averse to ghosts, ghosts stories and would get s**t scared followed by auto release of fluids if spoken about them. This was a golden chance for the other naughty/nutty guys to test his fear levels increasing the stress levels by scaring. That guy was also aware that he would be put under test and he was ready for it to either avoid or pose brave if subjected to.

The most awaited day dawned and the school bus with all the noise that it can bare and arrived at the theme park. Discounted school offers were taken with a glee and all the guys sported stylishly the wrist bands/entry tickets.

Pep talks encouraged this guy for the ghastly episode with the ghosts while some spoil sports did discourage. When he was down with fear the challenge would be posed in front of the girls and you know what, the guy would fall for the bait.

There came the ghostly abode and time for thriller action. Small groups were formed to enter and the naughtiest were with this guy continuously charging him for the adventure.

Just after entering the main door, another door opened up into a complete darkness something similar to seeing a question paper for those who haven’t seen the books for months.

This guy was pushed in front and the rest slowed down leaving him alone to wade through the cavey structure. These guys were all giggles in whisper and that poor guy had vanished into seemingly an eternal darkness. Had heard that different ghosts would pop out of nowhere screaming to give the fright and then vanish.

Hopingly not to see/hear the ghosts but the screams from the guy who went in alone/left alone, was this group waiting.

There you could hear the wild screams that were most expected from the poor frightened chap and the thud thud noise helter skelter running footsteps approaching.

Alas what did they see!!!!!!!!!!!! What did they hear!!!!!!!!!!

Most scary it was and it was the ghosts that were running helter skelter to save their lives and were screaming for help, pleading to save and there came behind our hero with his belt in hand chasing them. What a sight it was our hero belting the ghosts left right centre, we had to intervene and calm him down holding him tightly.

The security guys came and surrounded us and took us aside while we were still laughing madly and hugging the hero. He came out triumphantly only to be punished along with all of us for the ghastly episode of the ghostly figures.

Till this date this would cheer us all to the extreme and continue to in the years to come. A frightened duckling/chick all these days turned out to be a hero, courtesy the ghosts that ran for their life.

Prime lesson learnt out of this ghostly / ghastly episode is that “when one is pushed to the wall for whatever reason, he/she turns out successfully unscathed”. A few might fold but majority of us fight and bounce back.
