Perhaps a very limited focus is the answer. Restrict participation to 2 or 3 threads and nurture them. I don't think I could make time for anything more.

 

Feels like watching the wedding of a person who has broken my child's heart. I feel old. Not sad or worried, but just old. There were couple of other chatter threads that could hold a post about this, but I am hoping "education" and "personal growth" will help me and America.

I feel nothing for Hillary, thought I'd feel sorry. Ivanka looks very self-conscious.

A confederacy of dunces assumes power. Decades of skimping on public education has brought us this day. A paranoid populace has sealed its fate and ours along with it. In my neck of the woods, a wrathful Indra threatens to inundate us all. The creek behind my house is flowing above flood level. My phone has been screeching imminent flood warnings since five. Seems strangely fitting. #NotMyPresident

 

I am this close to starting to pray. But, somehow, hope overshadows despair. Perhaps from lessons learnt... nothing is as bad as it seems. And there is always a tomorrow. No, this is not consoling oneself with mere words.

Though the stronger than usual rain and the seemingly louder than usual sounds did keep me awake from 4 am onward. For once, I didn't like the sound of rain.

This marching music playing in the inauguration is ruined for me forever.

Yet, I don't feel as down and desolate as when the election results had started to confirm what the mind refused to believe. Perhaps that is why they have weeks between the elections and the inauguration.
