    hello stanlee,

regarding dates- the internet had offered me mixed opinions as to if i can have them in my first trimester or not. when i had consulted my doctor- she suggested that i can start with dates after the 5th month (it seems dates are heaty in nature). and there are other dry fruits and fruits which can be had until then for the same benefits as of dates.

my doc had suggested that i have 2-3 servings of dairy daily (i used to take it in the form of milk, buttermilk, yoghurt), 2-3 servings (different) fruits, and 3-4 servings (different) veggies.

i know it is difficult in the first trimester to follow a diet as such when you have terrible nausea, but this can be introduced at a slow pace. the main foods that i was asked to avoid was papaya, pineapple, sesame and hing. well as such there were no much restrictions on diet...

    hope this helps :)

What are fruits we actually can have and possible veggies we can have?

how to get rid of this bitter taste which makes not to eat anything good?

Any fruits such as apple, bananas, pears, oranges, grapes, strawberries, watermelon such. Veggies which i had were carrots, cucumbers, beans, lettuce, spianach- the usual which we use for cooking at home...

I have heard people say tat pepper rasam and buttermilk help that awkward taste to be warded off- though both these didnt help. I had it all thru my 12 weeks, for some it comes and goes and for sum it just vanishes.

Hope it vanishes in this case too
