    Thank you Amulet for your nomination of @shravs3 's Ugadi Memories
    shravs's soulful narration of her childhood Ugadi took me back by several decades when TV was yet to rear it's ugly head. We depended solely on Radio to catch up with Cricket played elsewhere. We had some brilliant commentators and one of them was Ananda Rau. He was able to bring the game right in front of our eyes with his brilliant commentary.
    shravs took me back to those days with her Ugadi memoirs. Ugadi is not new to me having been blessed with a Telugu son-in-law. We celebrate both Telugu and Tamil New Years. Yesterday's Ugadi was a lack lustre affair thanks to the deadly Corona. Our thoughts were wholly with my granddaughter who is stuck in Evanston. Festivals always make us yearn for the near and dear ones who are far away.
