    Thanks a lot @Cheeniya sir for your overwhelming appreciation.
    I just don't feel compelled to write that frequently these days, as I lack that focus and attention to stay on a single theme. Just to break that cycle I started writing verses again. Happy to be motivated through this nomination.
    Interesting lines, those from WH Auden. Thanks for sharing. - rgs

    @GeetaKashyap @jayasala42
    My dear Geeta
    Thanks a lot for your nomination of jayasala's A Simple Wrapper
    The opening episode of folded paper from a magazine is indeed a masterly opening of a gripping and joyful tale. It reminds me of the opening scene of Forrest Gump , an award winning movie starring Tom Hanks. It's amazing how little things can trigger ourmemory to travel back years. Jasala's narration is of a 'unputdownable' category. Really loved it.

    When some IL’ite comes out and says something like “I did this… and this is how it made me very pleased”, and the deed happens to be something educational, developmental and likely enjoyable for anyone who might take the hint and attempt the same, I am very pleased.

    Phew… that turned out to be longer than I expected. I should’a come up for air earlier than I did.

    When I read member Cheeniya post about H.H. Munro’s stories ( under the pseudonym “Saki”) I thought, “what a nice thing to do”.

    When I read something that I found useful, funny, enjoyable, educational, and all-around damned good thing, I’d usually think that the thing would probably not interest the general riff-raff, and beyond my own family (spouse and adult children) I would never think of foisting that on the public, never mind how much I think it will help boost the joy, and good feelings of having read something happy and sweet. i am just that kind of reserved, and inhibited sort of being. However, I am happy that I can appreciate those who are unlike me, and feel free to fling some happiness on random strangers.

    I would like to nominate Cheeniya’s post to introduce H.H.Munro’s writings as the Finest Post in the "Contributions" category. It contributes immensely to the joy of IL-humanity who’d care to click and read some of the stories (links provided below) mentioned in the post and the thread:

    Short Stories: Dusk by Saki
    The Chronicles of Clovis by Saki
    The Unbearable Bassington by Saki

    Do I want to float in Rihana's sambhar ? --- That is the kwestin in front of me when I think of adding my voice to nominating her post for "the finest", on a sambhar she makes when she has uninterrupted, contiguous time at home.

    Years ago, there was this, in an internet forum post:
    When I share a recipe with somebody, they come back and tell me, 'I did exactly what you did, but it tastes different?' A pregnant pause which speaks the question - did you skip telling us one ingredient.
    There was an "Everybody Loves Raymond" on this theme.

    And now I find out from Rihana's post that the universal missing ingredient is "uninterrupted time" !

    While I am putting on my orange floatation device, I should say that "Mindfulness" and "focus on the task" are good things to have no matter what is the project. Rihana points that out in her post by conspicuously skipping over any details of any of the ingredients ( there are a lot, aren't they?) for a sambhar. Instead she goes lyrical on the coriander leaves that didn't stay green or float on the surface all that much. The idea is about the gestalt of how a peaceful, uninterrupted time can focus the mind, and result in a good thing, no matter what that thing is.

    It is really not about a Sambhar; it may even include pongal, idly, chutney or a business plan for the next google. That's the recipe in that post.

    Now that I have my floatation device all click-snapped and inflated, I would like to nominate Rihana's post on "Sambhar Uninterrupted" for the Finest Post in the Narration Category.

    @Amulet
    Thanks a lot for your nomination of my thread The Unbearable Bassington By Saki ( H H Munro) in Book Lovers Forum. I am happy to have kindled the interest of 132 members to go after this fabulous writer. In fact, your nomination post itself will make more members to rush to the nearby bookshop/library hunting for Saki.
