    Dear Meena
A child playing with XL shoes you mean? What can be a better toy for an inquisitive child? Thanks a lot for the appreciative words, Meena. Coming from a humour specialist like you, they are indeed special for me

    Dear vjb
Kishore mommy's http://www.indusladies.com/forums/nature-cure/155576-must-have-medicines-every-home.html#post2068342 is indeed a gem of a post. What I like most about it is that it has started a deluge of home remedies with every ILite pitching in with her bit. This threads reminds me of my maternal grandma who used to be mobbed by young women with babes in arms day and night for some home remedy for their children. My grandma always gave the right prescription and brought back smiles on the kids' and their mothers' faces!

I used to love her recipes of some powder or other mixed with honey and given on betel leaf and I used to fake some minor ailment to be able to lay my hands on such delicious stuff! It is indeed nice of Kishore mommy to revive a centuries old legacy. Thank you for this nomination vjb. Let me now run for my asafoetida powder with honey on a betel leaf to quell the turbulence in my tummy.

    Dear Viji
I am grateful to you for nominating mimur's http://www.indusladies.com/forums/snippets-of-life-non-fiction/158943-bovine-times.html
For a man who is used to seeing dozens of cows that have gone dry being mercilessly huddled together in a rickety truck and driven across the border to Kerala for slaughter, this thread has come as a breath of fresh air. There is an element of serenity about cows that has the same effect on me as an hour's deep meditation. mimur has surely taken a lot of pains to communicate exactly her emotional and physical experience of her visit to the Goshala.

Talking of cows, this video showing their interest in music will be of interest to you

    Dear mums
Anukarsha's http://www.indusladies.com/forums/e...th-through-spiritual-routine.html#post2031875 is one of her best till date. It has awakened great interest among our members and as you have rightly observed, even fellow ILites have responded v.well. This is a subject that cannot fail to arrest people's attention. Growth is a very desirable thing and when it is achieved through spiritual routine, it acquires a special sheen.
Thank you mums for nominating it for FP. I also feel sad that you have exhausted your quota for the month. It was great fun going through your nominations.
Please continue to be active here mums

    Hi all,

With this nomination, I would like to bring to light the excellent writing skills of Mohur. I started reading her Fan Fiction type entry on Harry Potter series and it was wonderful.
However, here I want to nominate her story http://www.indusladies.com/forums/stories-fiction/158428-a-different-life-2.html
Without her revelation, it is difficult to even find that it is a piece of fiction. It sounds and feels like reading your own story. How we strive to be different and how we end up being the same. An excellent choice of words and somehow touched my heart a lot!
Hope you all like it too!!

    Thanks,
    Mathangi

    Dear Mathu
Thank you for this nomination of Mohur's http://www.indusladies.com/forums/stories-fiction/158428-a-different-life-2.html
If she had not posted it under Fiction, I too would have thought that it was her own story. Such is the power of her narrative skill. The subject that she had taken for her story is something that affects a majority of women in this country. The gap between what a woman dreams of becoming and what she ends up as keeps widening. The term 'career woman' is quite loosely applied here. To my mind, it is not just going to office and doing a routine job there. I see no difference between that and being a housewife. At least in being a housewife, one gets emotional satisfaction but what does one get in being a nondescript employee of a dull organisation besides salary?

In Indian context, self employment is the best answer to most of the career aspirants. It combines the advantage of both being a responsible housewife and building a career for oneself. I agree that it is not possible for everyone to become a Kiran Mazumdar Shah but to be effectively self employed is real empowerment. The gap between dream and reality is inevitable but it is in our hands to keep it from growing wider.

Mohur's story, even if it is fiction, needs to be taken very seriously. You have done a great job nominating it for FP Mathu. I do hope that it catches the attention of more ILites now
