    Dear Kottravai,

    Thank you for nominating this thread and bringing some 'fine art' into our Finest Posts forum! Like you rightly mention, though kolams are regional tradition, the beauty of it is universal.

    By the way, it reminds of a thread that was popular years ago where our Chitvish introduced us to kolams, its beauty and also with some instructive tips how to go about creating this on your own front step. I followed that and to this day, I make it a point to adorn my front entrance with a kolam, simple it may be, on any festive occassion! Thanks for this nomination.
