    Bangalore Nagaraaj (1922-1974)
A contemproary composer he had composed about 200 songs in Kannada and Sanskrit. His mudra - Meenakshisuta
Rakshmam Saranagatham - a beautiful composition in Ragam Gambeera Naatai was popularized by Sri Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar. They say that Chembai found his lost voice when he sang this song.

Here is the beautiful song by Trichur brothers.

    Ladies,

Attended a 2 hour concert locally organized by a friend who runs a Bharatanatyam school! I have to tell you that I enjoyed it so much and thought of all of you all the time there. The artists were from Bangalore and they gave a rendition of good mix of classical/semi classical and some file songs even...that were based on classical ragas! Of course he chose to sing "Shankara" from Shamkarabharanam, "Samjavargamana", not the movie version and many classical Carnati songs! What an experience it was!

    @Srama ....aww u thought about us :)...
Glad u had a wonderful evening. :cheer:

Yesterday the kitchen factory was in full swing ....and DS1 was my DJ for the whole morning. He sat at the island and played all his favs one by one while he was doing his own stuff.
This song I tell u ..u got to listen..I dont know how I missed it. Vid. TNK and Vid Chandrasekhar violin duo with Vid.Umayalapuram Sivaraman on mridangam.
Amazing concert....Seriyana potti(duel) between mridangam and violin...
Siva Ramans hands are I dont know what...appa enna clarity enna speed....cant get enough of it.

In the same concert they play nannu brochevaru evaru ra.another popular film song. Do listen to it. I have met Sri. Chandrasekhar and watched him teach .He is such a sweetheart always considerate to his co-artists both on and off stage. Very patient..and boy can his violin sing.

Thank you JAG @justanothergirl ! Children can surprise that way no? How cute of your DS1 !! That link you have shared is amazing. Have I ever told you that DS plays Piano and saxophone and DD is learning Violin? Thanks to this performance I attended yesterday, I am able to hook up my so to do some Mridangam lessons with the artists just to get a sense of Indian classical :)

PS: My DH enjoyed the link you shared and is now hooked on to listening on his phone :)

    So true !
I did not know that sabi..thats wonderful. Ur DD playes western or carnatic violin or both?
So happy for u..its nice to learn mridangam regardless of whether u pursue it or not..it builds ones sense of rhythm which is critical for any musician western or Indian.
hehehe ..u won't believe I heard this so many times yesterday again and again. DS1 was probably regretting his idea of introducing this to me after some time...poor guy.

Re re Manasa Bhajare - Ragam Nattai

The audio quality that I could get on you tube is poor.

Her is a better quality and lovely rendition on the Veena by Smt. Gayathri

Here is the not-so-good audio vocal recording by Sri Unnikrishnan
