    Yeah, I love vasanthkokilam's yen pallikondeeraiyya...got to heAr it because my mom used to play it when I went home during school breaks...
    That's fascinating to know about Asai mugam composition...

    I do like MLV's marugelara...her voice was a gift. How I wish I could sing, sigh!

    Thanks for "en palli.... ", Shanvy :) I have such fond memories of my beautiful childhood when I think about the song! My childhood home in Mylapore was always filled with music and I even vividly remember the blue/black TDK cassette which had all NC kritis on A side and classical based old film songs on B side! We used to repeatedly listen to "en palli...." and then immediately turn the cassette to the other side to listen to "sundari soundari niranthariye..." by Soolamangalam Sisters from thooku thooki :) These were our favorite songs! Awww.. you're making me tear up from all the nostalgia :'(

    Jkaly, DH and group used to be in touch with one of the sishya of haridoss giri..who can beat his prabho ganapathe... or his dola satvam....great works..


    peartree, i know the cassette you are talking about.. and on thooku thooki..dh loves the movie so much that we listen to those songs even today.. we have lots of old songs resurfacing at home these days with dh suddenly hooked to nandanaar, thirunyanasambandhar and all...
