    Anybody following the girl sooryagayathri

    I love her rendition for her bhava and appreciate her guru too.

    Loads of new talent and people still lament anda kaalam. We need to appreciate the balance these kids strike

    @Shanvy I am a big fan of this kutty .
    Veena is a sampurna vadyam....I love it !.
    yup @kkrish has promised me a nice veena concert after I take her out on a mega shopping trip.
    Enjoy chitraveena quite a bit too. The sliding masks the discreteness of the plucking motion much better and gives it almost a violin feel.
    One of my fav artists. Enjoy his lectures as much as his playing .
    Here is is Oothukadu Ravis Enna punyam seideno in reethi gowla....

    @sokanasanah ..Nisha Rajagopal sings this in the same concert after the charukesi varnam.

    Nice collection here. Adding a few more contemporary artists :

    Tejaswi mallela, he's great both on the violin and vocals

    Dr. Jyotsna, her fusion albums are a must hear.

    Yes, beautiful @peartree
    I had the privilege of being in a concert of this same duo's jugalbandi. Enjoyed the lovely sitar too.

    Hi @Shanvy
    Okay! I see. Thanks for that interesting information on Ahiri. Truly said. It was so lovely.

    My dad would take me to kutcheris when I was a kid. As far as I could recall our outings were all to kutcheris only. I remember sleeping through many of them and being carried home on my dad's shoulder. For me they were all big people stuff and not for kids.
    When I was 10, he took me to another 10-year-old's Veena kutcheri, which was my turning point.
    I will always be thankful to my dad for introducing this beautiful world and to Veenai Gayathri for being my inspiration.

    @blindpup10
    Thanks for Bhimsen Joshi's Kannada song. It was refreshing and a new experience to hear him sing Carnatic.
    And "Jagadho dharana" ... by M.S. Amma. What can we say!!!
    There is a song "Narayana hari, narayana hari, narayana hari, narayanaa..."
    I will be happy to hear a good version of that song too.

    @Shanvy
    Can you sit against the wall to give you back support?

    I just was thinking, "this one jenmam is not enough to imbibe all this beauty" I need more.
    Thanks for such wonderful pieces.
    This is the first time I am hearing VJ. Will listen to her more.

    Oh Etthanai azhagu, etthanai pavithram...
    The exact way to sing a Rama song...mridhu. Soft and gentle. She is also enjoying the song which gives it the extra beauty.

    Yes, so many young fabulous talent abound and I

    Reeti gowla... does something to the heart...
    Chitraveena is another beautiful instrument.
    Yesterday, I was listening, again, to a flute performance by a friend's young teenage son. So beautiful that instrument too.
    Just a humble bamboo and so many sounds from it! Amazing. No wonder, "kuzhal oothi manamellam kollai Kondan" andha kannan. Not only kannan, my friend's son did mine too.
