The only famous 'street food' for me is Masala dosa(i) from Annapoorna, Coimbatore.

They are now spreading the masala in the dosa(i). Of late, sambhar's taste has gone down, but still good than other eatery. Their chutney has improved. Earlier it was stale.

    Rs.48, as of 30/3/2013.

Flavored dosa, that too at late night?? Yummy !!

You know, in Pune (on Tilak road, I think) there is one stall that opens only after midnight. And all college guys that live in hostel, gather there while taking a break from studies. It serves poha with chole curry. Very unusual dish, yet divinely delicious. Girls had to depend on their guy friends to keep aside something for them. I used to feel so jealous of them :rant.

Hey, I was also in Nagaland for three years !! I know what you are talking about. Have you heard of 'Kukkur bhat'? Another delicacy. I better not go into the details. :rotfl

And in Bikaner, are you talking about 'mawa kachoris'? My dad used to bring them when he had to visit for work.

Street food, I love to eat :) but only if I keep my eyes closed to hygiene :)
Of all the places I have been too,
Delhi : chandani chowk for aloo chat, don't remember the name but one shop in jhandewala which sold yummy dahi bhalla. Parantha at Paranthe wali gali. Love most of snacks from bikannerwala, not exactly street food:)

Kolkata: khatti rolls at new market, puchkas, kachori with aloo subji at bada bazaar.
Amritsar: novelty for cholebhature , some shop besides jallainwala bhag for jalebi, then amritsari naan and chatte di lassi.
Ludhiana: prakash me chole bhature, pandit ke PRA the, nutri kulcha and pizza baked on road side tan door.
Bombay: pav bhaji and vada pav at beaches, then khao gali.
Chandigarh: pranthas besides sec 15, night food street.
Manali: yummy mom mos at main market.
On the way to Srinagar from Jammu I loved to eat patisa , a sweet in place called kud also their paneer pakodas are yummy.
