The following song (English translation at end of post) is from the movie Anmol Ghadi (1946), while India was still whole (I say that because after 1947 playback singer Noor Jehan moved to Pakistan, taking her rich voice with her):

I just love the raw, genuine emotion portrayed. And the song is so simple. And the actress is just reclining, thinking about her beloved. Do you see any songs, or movies where the actor or actress can portray simple, raw, genuine emotion? Far and few in between!

This is why I call it "evergreen". I bet in another 100 years, people will still be talking about songs like this.

Bet there will be a revival of this genre (if that's what they call it) of these type of songs in movies.

Similar to Opera music. During the Renaissance (few 100 years ago), it was a revival of an artform from the times of the ancient Romans (few 1000 years ago).

Also, the story, Romance of the Three Kingdoms was bought into popularity during China's Ming dynasty, (some few 100 years ago). Romance of the Three Kingdom is closely based on historic events (few 1000 years ago). Think of it as China's Ramayan, or Mahabharat.

I wonder how music, movies, and other artforms will be like some hundred years from now. Will something entirely new be created, or will there be a revival of something like the song in this post?

The lyrics with possible meaning are:

    aa jaa.. aa jaa .
    please come...... come

Aa jaa meri barbaad mohabbat ke sahaare
Please come, the saviour of my ruined love

Hai kaun jo bigadi hui taqadeer sanvaare
Besides you, who can restore my distorted destiny

aaye bhi na thhe, khushk hue aankhon mein aansu,
The tears dried up in my eyes before flowing

    Haaye aankhon mein aansu
Nikalay bhi na thhe lut gaye, armaan bechaare
my pathetic dreams will looted before fulfilling

Hai kaun jo bigadi hui taqadir sanvaare
Besides you who can restore my destiny

    anjaam-e-mohabbat hamein maaloom hai lekin,
The-end-of-love was evident to me; but

Letay hain tere gham mein umeedon ke sahaare
in your angst, I depend upon the hopes

Hai kaun jo bigadi hui taqadir sanvaare
Besides you who can restore my distorted destiny

thha dil ko faqat teri muhabbat ka sahaara,
My heart was alive only on the support of your love,

Ham ne isi umeed pe din apnay guzaare
I have spend my days only with this hope

Hai kaun jo bigadi hui taqadeer sanvaare
    Aa jaa.. aa jaa ..
Aa jaa meri barbaad mohabbat ke sahaare
Hai kaun jo bigadi hui taqadir sanvaare
