Erection at night

friends.....sometimes i get awake at around 3-4am in the morning and am afraid as most of the time i have discovered my DH's private part is erect and strong.
Am really surprised and afraid....as it stays for long time. After that he leaves for office. If i ask him he says my leg just got touch to his penis. Whereas i know its not.
I am clueless.
Is it normal to get such erections daily at such hours when we sleep at around 10-11pm? Or should i get it as something else?

Your question probably is more suited to the Intimacy sub-forum.

Regardless, I would like to say this situation is completely normal. Erections can happen during REM phase of sleep to men. Even women can have some arousal symptoms during their REM sleep, though it of course won't be so obvious. So don't worry - it happens to many people and is not anything to be concerned about. You can simply tease him about this and leave it at that.

You are right. Why waste such a good experience and great booster to start the day for this trivial matter.
You brush your teeth anyway at night, and if breath is too smelly then use a mint or a candy with a good smell.
