Update...So my friends daughter is on this homeopathy treatment for over a year now. The doc has said that he cannot be certain for how long she may require the homeopathy meds as her DD's adenoids trigger anytime she goes off the meds. The meds will have to continue for as long as needed. However, there have been no side effects and her DD is doing well academically and is actively involved in co curricular activities as well. My son also has adenoid problem, did a scan a month ago dr told its very much enlarged and advised to opt for surgery but some other peadiatric drs that we were consulting advised me to wait till he turns 7 years in their opinion, the adneoid can vary in size and shrink during that age you need to consult with your pead regarding this he has this problem since his birth we consulted a ent dr when he was 2 years, and dr advised us this will get improved over years and asked us to wait during that time he had snoring and nose block in between and he gets cold and cough every now and then but managed with medicines he is 5 years old now recently the breathing difficulty increased and then we did that scan urgently and then the ent dr advised for surgery as of now we have decided not to do surgery till he is 7 years am going back to the ent in india during this summer holidays again for confirmation for 2 more years wait between i am doing some changes in his diet which has helped immensely drastic cut off in his diary products intake only diluted milk every morning he is very fond of cheese,yoghurt, butter, spreads and all but i have reduced the amount of his intake and no milk related food after 5 in the evening also i am giving him lemon jiuce everyday with honey also make him gargle with salty luke warm water before bed and his dinner time is around 7 and no solid food after that this has helped him very much and helped in his breathing problem i dont know what i wrote above is in any order or prove any useful to you typing from office quickly, just wanted to write based on my experince i am not sure if this can be applied to any other kid
thank you haya,your reply has been very helpful.could u tell me how much blockage is there in your son,my ent said 2 months back that my son had 90% blockage ,that time he had severe breathing problems,but now after 2 months i see some improvement in his condition...he is still snoring so i am worried about it too.I am also planning to wait for 3 month and go to india in summer vacations and consult with a ent there.does ur son take any medications for adenoids? I didnt know about the dairy reduction ..my son also loves taking dairy..cheese ..milk shakes are his favourite ..but i will also try to cut them and check his progress.thank u so mch for the info....
hi g3sudha, canu tell me which doctor u are consulting,also has the doc prescribed any medicines for him.my doc says that there are no medicines except suregery ..so i am a bit worried and thinkng of consulting a another ent specialist..
My son is also having the same problem. He has been having it for the past 2 years. He is now 3 years old. He has very weak immunity and used to fall sick quite often. Though the doctor here advised that surgery might be required, but asked us to wait for a while. But some other doctors in India said that adenoids will become smaller with age and not to go for surgery till 8 years, unless otherwise it is critical. i also understand that adenoids are natural defense agents and removing them will not guarantee that they will not fall sick. I heard that homeopathy has very good treatment for adenoids. I am also going to check it out when I go to India for vacation this time. One of the ILs had a similar case with the kid and had consulted homeo, which gave cure. She had also given the Dr's contacts in Anna nagar, Chennai. I will check and revert. Also came to know that Dr.Nagendra babu in Chromepet, Chennai is also a very good Homeo doctor. Meanwhile, redcuing dairy products is good idea. My son's pead also asked me to check what triggers infection in him. The last 6 months...i have not given him curd at all..not even buttermilk. Cheese and other things, he anyways doesn't like. I also stopped grapes completely, as sometimes i felt, the day he has grapes, the next day, symptoms crop up. B'cos of this, the frequency of cold and infections has greatly reduced in the last 6 months. Don't worry. Do take minimum 3 opinions before you go for surgery and also try homeopathy while in India. Do take the x-ray reports to the homeo doctor.
thanxs subha ...i am also going to check what triggers his infection,also planning to stop dairy products..cld u lease try and get me the homeo doctor contacts as even I am from chennai...and annanagar is closer to my home...do u have contact numbers for these doctors....it would be a great help....what problems does adenoids trigger in your kid...as i heard it cld affect hearing too...How big are ur kids adenoids and are u using any medication for it....
