Hahahahahaha Navs. Just couldn't keep myself from :rotfl reading this one. Not seldom do we refer to "spending a penny" as in "I don't want to spend a penny on something so useless as that". I was told that "spending a penny" was a coy way of saying "going to the toilet". Apparently the usage stemmed from the fact that using a public toilet cost a penny in the "good old days" - I guess now it will have to be corrected to "spend a pound". After all everything has been badly hit by inflation. Sigh!!!!!

Thanks Bhargavi. :) I am not sure, even after having said all this, whether I am really in a rush to embrace the new version. I just love the Queen's English too much. Result of being brought up to believe that was the "real", "good" English. :drown

Yes Aruna. Am still struggling with this. :) Looks like education never comes to an end. My only concern is that by the time I sort of grasp this new language, it will give way to a newer one. :spin

Very true Anisu. :) In a way, it would be very nice if we could have a unified language all over the world. Life would be so much easier and communication so much better.
