    Play:
@Park - dig in sand box, swings, trying to get her to go up and down the slide. Did not pay attention to other kids.
    Songs with actions

    Fine motor:
    Stack wooden blocks
Play at water table - squeezing toys that squirt water, scooping and pouring water.

I need to change things up a bit. If we go out, then there is no time for all the activities I want to do at home, but DD is happier outside, so trying to get her out ever day at least in the summer.

What I am not doing consistently: activities for sensory integration, working on taking bites of food, chewing better. Need to incorporate these.

    Hi kaput
    Good post.
Take your kid outdoors a lot.
    Let him play in water,sand.
Understanding our childs sensory signals by Angie voss is a awesome book.
It lists in detail the sensory issues faced by asd kids and the integration to be done for

Hi Sunshine. I got the book and like it. I have a list of activities collected from all over internet and it languishes in my notes somewhere.
But this book is like a recipe list, it's a good reference to have.

    6/30:
DD had her quarterly evaluation and the supervisor was impressed by the progress made by her in the past 3 months. She is used to seeing marginal improvements. From having zero verbal/non-verbal communication, zero play skills, minimal fine motor skills and joint attention, she now has few word approximations (up, light, touch), is starting to gesture to request, makes some animal sounds, has great joint attention and plays appropriately with some toys.
Almost all of this was possible only because her medical condition improved considerably 3 months ago after a treatment. We were doing all of these therapies earlier too but progress was painfully slow. If her medical issues worsen again, we will be back to square one. It makes me very anxious but I can do nothing about it so just concentrating on what I can do. My goal is to spend 2 hours on therapy homework but I am only averaging 1.5 hours. Her caregivers (many have changed) during the day don't try to engage her - it's too much effort and they just don't have the skills - so just change her diaper and then play on phone rest of the day while she runs around banging things.

7/1: Went grocery shopping with DD's fruit and veggie books and showed her all the matching fruits and vegs. The usual fine motor activities, books and action songs.
