    Dear shanvy,

yesterday i have tried to prepare oats cookies following your recipe, but i couldnt make dough i mean its not moist enough to form dough.I couldnt shape it in to cookies. So i would like to know what would have gone wrong .Do i need to add any thing else .I just followed the exact recipe but instead of cocoa powder i added a small melted choclate for flavour.I liked the recipe a lot so i would like to give an other attempt.Could you please take some time to explain me the reason what went wrong.

    Thankyou.

    Hey hollyhock,

If it is not moist enough, maybe your oats is soaking up the moisture..so just sprinkle little milk and make the dough..a very little milk could do the trick.

    try in small quantities.

:ideaFor those who are :shaking:eek:f butter......apple sauce, :hiya(nothing but apples peeled, cored and boiled and then mashed)..is the best alternative, and the flavour doesn't show through, like banana mash.:drool

    Sorry viji,

Just saw your post. because I had been on vacation when u had posted this query.

Sorry dear, you cannot make these cookies in microwave, unless there is convection mode in the same.

there is a class party in my son's class tomorrow. Did not want to send chips, or other junk, as that will be brought by most.

So tried to make these, wheat cookies with dessicated coconut. Had too many fresh coconuts. just grated and left it to dry in the MW for 1 minute, and it ended up very aromatic dessicated version.

    Wheat Cookies with Dessicated coconut.

    Ingredients:

    Wheat flour : 2cup
    Oil : 1/2 cup
Vanilla Custard Powder : 1tblsp (optional)
(was not sure of the color as it was a party.)
    Baking Powder : 2 or 3 pinch
    Baking soda : 1 pinch
    Coconut : 1/2 cup
    Powdered sugar : 1 cup
    Vanilla essence : 3 drops

    Method :

Mix powdered sugar, and oil. beat till fluffy and smooth. Mix wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, custard powder together. add this to the sugar and oil mixture. knead and make a nice dough. take small balls and place it on your palm and press and if the dough is too dry, add 2 tsp of milk to the it and mix. then just put a coconut gratings on top if you like.

bake it in a preheated oven at 200 degree cent for 12 minutes.

The cookies come very tasty and nice. Those who love the TRUE NICE biscuits will love this.

Just 2 cookies with a glass of milk is very filling as evening snack.
