East Coast Usa Trip

Charleston, savannah, and my all time favorite Sapelo island. You can take a walk at the beach at night, might be able to see the sea turtles, rent a bike and bike around the island.

 

Pick Jersey City or some nearby town in New Jersey. NJ Transit takes you to Penn Station in few mins. And then you can uber or take metro.

 

Jul is great time for NYC. Depends on your interest. We like staying at Time Square. Makes thing easier for us with kid. Hotels are pretty expensive and booking early is better. We usually have car ( owned or rented) so we park it as one of those places ( usually there is no free parking in NYC) and roam around NYC walk back to hotel, and take T to go to other places. Food and other convenience shopping is easy and good in that area.

In the past, we have also stayed at outer areas - brooklyn, i think, where hotels are cheaper like 150$ and keep car parked and move to places via T.

Time square - you can spend full day walking around. It basically does not have much but just big market area but madame tussads, empire state and few more places.
Then in NYC - there are other places - liberty, pier, indian street ( don't rembr name)
With kid you might have to stretch to 2 days.
