    dont know how i missed this thread, but thanks sindhura..i am doing fasting for this entire month and putting up diya everyday, i dont know the significance of each day...thanks again for sharing

    Its Good to know about you routine sushma.. :)

    In Kartheka masam its very Fruitfull to do fasting how many days you can.. There are different kinds of fasting that can be done depending on your conveniance and ability..

    1> Doing fasting for a complete day by taking only Thulasi Therdham (Water of Thulasi) at nyt. Its called Upavasam
    2> Doing fasting for the day time and taking dinner after seeing the stars.. Its called Naktham
    3> Taking meal for 1 time in a day either lunch or dinner only.. Its called Eka Bhuktham

    Any of this will give effective results.

    From today The Puja started for Lord Vishnu.. Morning I went for Padmanabha swamy temple.. There all the preparations started for the Puja, Since day after tommorow is Dwadasi, from today nyt Puja will be there for Lord Vishnu..

    Hello all.. On the day of kartheeka pournami.. its very fruit full to lit Diya at lord shiva or Vishnu temple
    If you are unable to lit atleast help the people liting the diyas, you can just lit the diya which is already lit by some one and it got off.. It will vanish all the bads for you even if you see the diya at the temple on Kartheeka Pournami
