    Hai friends,
    I want to buy dvd players for my relatives in India ? Did anyone of you took dvd players from usa to India? Will they work there or not ? please give me idea?

    I am also planning to get DVD players, specifically blu-ray for my family in India. I planned for Nintendo Wii before, but i understood that it wont work in india well. So now I am planning for Blu-ray. Apart from the voltage difference, is there anything else we have to look at for.

    Hi rekha and dolly

    we took dvd player for our family almost 4 years ago.its working perfectly fine till now... no problem at all...

    one more thing you have to look in dvd player is PAL/NTSE.....if its PAL/NTSE compatible, i mean if it can work with both PAL & NTSE then you don't have to see whether the tv is PAL compatible or NTSE compatible...

    Do a websearch for 220 volt electronics. There are sites that sell all sorts of things that you can take to India and they explain what will work.

    My brother took a dvd player from Sam's club which was not at all expensive (around $35) for my parents in India. It been more than 5 years, it works great. Just make sure it plays both regions PAL/NTSC.

    thanks for ur responses
    where can i get the information about a dvd player whether it is pal/ntsc compatible?
    I tried to order on amazon.con but could not find any such informatio, plase help in selecting dvd players for india.
