    Hi Reh

There is not much formalities to join 1st grade.
Child's Birth certificate, Immunization Records and school report card.
Which school he can go is depends on the parent's place of residence. So you have to provide a proof of residence. That is it.

Depends on the age of the child, you must meet the Immunization record. Even if you miss one, don't worry, the school will direct you where you could take it.

This is all based on assuming that you are sending your child to a public school. I don't know have any knowledge about private school, because I send my kids to public school and will recommend it too.

    Good Luck.

Hi Reh did you move to NY? where are you staying and which school did you decide for your kid?

I will be moving to NY next month. Thanks Chinnuz for inputs. I want a school which has good infrastructure for sports. My daughter loves skating, which school would you suggest in NJ ?
