    hi priya,

    i happened to read a book by Rujuta Diwakar.. she is a highly qualified sports and nutrition specialist(i hope i got her qlfy right).. her book won the best seller award and hence caught my attention.. it is called " dont lose your mind, lose your weight" . it is very popular and cheap too (Rs. 150 or so). it is widely available in all stores. it really changed my view point about weight loss. this book can be ordered online too .. so worth trying.. she has published one more book later, but that is too elaborate and not very interesting.. in that book she has written "throw away your weighing machine" ha ha.. i really liked it. she explains :fat is very light , but muscles are very heavy. we will lose the fat and gain muscles by doing exercises, but will mistake it for a weight gain and get demotivated and stop exercising. So we just hv to enjoy exercises and do it regularly. if the weighing scale moves in upward direction, we should be able to differenciate, whether it is fat or muscles.

    Count me in too.

    Being realistic,planning for a weight loss of 3 kgs by new year at the rate of 1kg per week.my diet is shaky.
    I walk for 3kms (approx. 20-30mins) daily.........

    hi friends,

    i want to join this group.i am overweight(post pregnancy)..81.1 as of now..i want to lose in healthier way ..excercis ecum healthy diet..my target si 2 kgs at the end of this month..only 2 weeks..each week 1 kg..lets see..i have planned for 1400 calories healthy eating and leslie sansone walking 1 hour.cheers..

    Sorry,I couldn't update yesterday...

    Walking - 20 mins
    Bf - Tea+bread+cereal - at different times
    Lunch - rice+kollu chutney
    snack-cookie+crackers
    Dinner-1 apple+lil.poriyal

    Trying more to be strict on diet,since 2 weeks left..

    Lets Keep goin....

    count me in too . I am currently 67 kilos and want to lose atl least 7 kilos by feb end ..

    My diet for today was as follow

    Breafast Milk and Poha
    Lunch lil rice and dal makhini ( made with 2 tsp oil ) & spinach curry with paneer ... being a friday my husband prefers a good lunch
    walk for 30 mins
    dinner lil dal makhini

    Hi friends,
    Seems this post was meant just for me. :)
    I am dieing to lose 2 kgs till 31st.
    I have postponed visit to mom's house keeping the target in mind.
    I have very busy schedule (Sorry.......just an excuse.......actually I am very lethargic..... he he he)

    But I have a very controlled diet with the help of which I have been able to lose 20 kgs in 8 months.

    My current schedule:
    7:30 am - herbal tea/ green tea
    8:30 am - Milk with some fruit or protein shake
    1:30 to 2 pm - salaads, Daal, vegetable (avoid potato), 2 roti, some rice, occasionally curd
    5 to 6 pm - tea
    6 to 7 pm - fruits (preferably apple, papaya and guava)
    9 pm Liquid diet

    Water intake - approx 4 litres

    Can someone please guide if i can increase rate of wt loss ......pleasssssssseeeeee

    Please help me in losing weight.. Good to see your motivations... exactly 2 more weeks to go. I ll post my daily food intake. Frenz, help me in identifying how much can i reduce per week with a proper diet..

    good thread. I was 79 kg and had health problems. SO made up my mind to lose weight. Consulted a good dietician and lost 10 kg in a year, with diet and regular exercise (just walking for an hour everyday). Then my schedules changed and I had to travel often. Also there was my niece's wedding (only girl in the family) and hogged well on sweets. No walking due to erratic lifestyle. Now, in two years time,have gained 7kgs and health is also suffering. So had made up my mind to resume my tight schedule like before. But do not know how I will be be able to keep to the timetable. Lets stick together to stick to our diet and exercise. All the best to you!
    I walkied for an hour only one day this week. I will be able to resume walk only from Monday again.
